The practice operates virtually nationwide, prepares federal and all-state tax returns for individuals and small businesses, and is led by two AFSP-credentialed, PTIN-registered senior specialists with nineteen years of combined preparation history.
The "Advisors" in TaxOwl Advisors reflects how the work is done. Annual returns are the floor, not the ceiling. Planning conversations happen year-round, not just in April. The same senior specialist who prepares your return is the person who answers your call in October.

- IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) Record of Completion — held by both specialists, listed in the IRS Directory of Federal Tax Return Preparers. AFSP credentialing requires annual continuing education, a federal tax law refresher exam, and agreement to Treasury Circular 230 limited practice rights.
- IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) — registered and active with the Internal Revenue Service. PTINs are held by individual preparers; available peer-to-peer for verification by request.
- IRS Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) — issued by the IRS and used for all federal e-filing.
- National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) — current member through January 2027.

What we do — and what we don't
TaxOwl Advisors provides tax and accounting services only — federal and state tax preparation, tax strategy, and bookkeeping/accounting engagements. Our specialists hold the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) Record of Completion, an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN), and an Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN), but we are not a CPA firm, law firm, Enrolled Agent practice, or a registered investment adviser. We do not issue compilation, review, or audit opinions, and we do not provide investment advice, securities recommendations, insurance products, or legal advice. Clients needing those services are referred to appropriately licensed professionals.
Under IRS Circular 230 and applicable law, AFSP-credentialed preparers have limited representation rights — limited to IRS examinations of returns we personally signed and prepared. We do not represent clients before IRS Appeals, Collections, Counsel, or Tax Court. For those matters, we refer to an Enrolled Agent or tax attorney.
