We're hiring senior tax preparers.

TaxOwl Advisors is a remote-first tax practice growing our team for the 2027 filing season and beyond. We're looking for senior preparers who care about doing the work right — not preparers who want to grind through 200 returns a season on autopilot.

What we offer

• Direct client relationships. No call-center routing, no junior preparers stuck doing intake. You meet your clients, you prep their returns, you stay their contact through follow-up.
• Proper tooling. CrossLink-based prep stack, TaxDome client portal, secure messaging. We invest in the tools so you can focus on the work.
• Year-round practice. Annual returns are the floor; advisory and planning work fills out the rest of the year. Steady income, not just a four-month sprint.
• Remote-first. Florida-based practice, but the team works from wherever you are. Async-friendly communication culture (text and email, not endless calls).
• Founding-team equity-style upside. We're early — joining now means joining at the formative stage of a practice that intends to grow.

What we're looking for

• Active PTIN required. AFSP Record of Completion preferred. EA / CPA / attorney credentials especially welcome (and especially well-compensated — see "What we don't do" on our pricing page for context).
• Minimum 5 years preparing returns across a range of complexity levels (W-2 through Schedule C, S-corp, multi-state, equity comp).
• Comfortable with secure-portal-based client interaction. If you prefer in-office walk-ins, this isn't the right fit.
• Care about the work. You don't outsource your judgment to software. You catch issues software doesn't. You write clean review notes.
• Florida residency not required — we hire across the US. State licensing differences (where applicable to your scope of work) are your responsibility.
